Our Story
Addict Confession Charity began with a story, one that still lives in everything we do: She was five years old when her mother brought her to the United States from Ukraine, hoping to give her a safer, brighter life. As a child, she was thoughtful and full of curiosity. She loved music, especially the piano, and found comfort in it. She did well in school and had a quiet, steady kind of light about her. As she grew older, life became more complicated. In her teenage years, she was introduced to substances and began to struggle. What may have seemed small at first slowly became something heavier, something harder to carry on her own. Her family cared deeply and tried to support her in every way they could. She entered rehabilitation and took steps toward recovery. Like so many others, her journey wasn’t simple or predictable. There were moments of hope, and there were setbacks too. Just one week before her 20th birthday, after carrying so much for so long, she passed away. There are no words for a loss like this. And yet, stories like hers happen every single day. Behind closed doors, in quiet moments, individuals and families are facing similar struggles, often feeling alone, and often unsure where to turn.

Her story is not unique–and that is why we exist
We created Addict Confession Charity to help make those stories heard. Our mission is to share real experiences of addiction and recovery in a way that brings understanding, compassion, and connection. When people are given space to speak honestly and when others are willing to listen, something begins to change. Shame softens. Barriers come down. Hope becomes easier to hold onto.
We believe every story matters. Every voice carries weight. And every person deserves to be met with care, respect, and compassion. If you or someone you love is struggling, please know, you are not alone in this. By listening, by sharing, and by showing up for one another, we can begin to turn isolation into connection, and over time, pain into something softer, something that leaves room for hope.
Music as a Path to Recovery
We also believe in the power of creative expression as part of healing. Music, storytelling, and art can offer a way to process what’s hard to say out loud. Inspired by this story, a musician close to our community wrote a song titled “I Found My Soul Again” and chose to give all proceeds from the song to support our work. It’s a quiet reminder that even in those difficult moments, something meaningful can still grow.
Through our platform, we hope to:
- Share stories that help people feel less alone
- Encourage understanding around addiction and recovery
- Offer a safe space for reflection, expression, and healing
- Support creative voices, especially those finding their way through recovery

Why we do this work
We were built to meet people with honesty, compassion, and action. Our mission brings together addiction awareness, support resources, and artist empowerment so more people feel seen and supported.
Addiction can affect every part of a person’s life—and the people who care about them. Too often, shame and isolation make it difficult to speak openly, ask for help, or simply feel understood. We believe that honest stories can help break that silence and remind people that they are not alone.
We also believe that creativity can be part of the journey. Music and storytelling give people a way to express experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into ordinary words. By helping musicians and artists share their work, we create another pathway for connection, understanding, and hope.
Our work brings these ideas together: real stories that educate and create understanding, and creative opportunities that give people a voice.
Sharing truth with care
We create space for real addiction stories that reduce stigma, encourage understanding, and remind people they are not alone in what they are facing.

Helping artists be heard
We support musicians and artists who are battling addiction or are in recovery by giving them an opportunity to turn their experiences into music. Through our in-house Blue Monkey Studio, artists can develop, record, and share their music while using creativity as part of their recovery journey.
Support that reaches further
From awareness education to community outreach, we connect people with meaningful information, recovery resources, and supportive guidance that can help make the next step feel a little less difficult.
We believe support should be accessible, compassionate, and grounded in real experiences. Whether someone is facing addiction themselves or trying to support someone they love, having trustworthy information and a place to turn can make a difference.
